I have always cherished the creative journey and currently, my focus is on Fluid Art, I am captivated by the unpredictable nature of paint flow. You never know how a piece of art is going to turn out. There is a certain organic quality to how the paint moves which in itself is captivating. The mesmerizing interplay of colours and the natural way that they lie on the surface is truly soothing.
Fluid Art Workshop
This engaging three-hour workshop is designed to introduce participants to the captivating art of paint pouring, a creative technique that allows for the spontaneous and beautiful blending of colours. Throughout the session, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of paint pouring techniques, gaining insight into the nuances of each method and how they can produce stunning visual effects. You will start by learning how to mix paint to achieve the ideal consistency necessary for different paint pouring techniques, which is crucial for ensuring that your artwork flows beautifully and the colours interact in interesting ways.
One of the highlights of the workshop is the Dutch Pour technique. In this segment, you will work with wipeable ceramic tiles and utilize a hair dryer to create mesmerizing designs. This method involves blowing the paint across the surface, allowing for intricate patterns to emerge. After mastering this technique, you will create your very own 8" x 8" Dutch Pour canvas, which you will be able to take home as a personal keepsake of your artistic journey.
Following a refreshing break, where you can enjoy light snacks and beverages, you will explore the Swipe Technique. This technique involves layering paint and then using a tool to swipe across the surface, creating unique textures and effects. You will practice this technique on wipeable ceramic tiles, allowing you to experiment freely without the pressure of a final piece. As you gain confidence and experience, you will then have the exciting opportunity to choose your preferred technique to apply on a larger 14" x 11" canvas.
This decision allows you to express your individual style and creativity, making each piece truly unique. All necessary paint supplies will be provided for you during the workshop, so you only need to bring the two canvases to work on. This ensures that you can focus entirely on the creative process without worrying about gathering materials.
